As per trade reports, the Salman Khan-Sonam Kapoor starrer had made Rs 318 crore worldwide in one week. The Sooraj Barjatya film has also become the second highest grosser of 2015, after Bajrangi Bhaijaan, surpassing the lifetime collections of Kangana Ranaut’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns (Rs 152 crore).
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo hit the theatres during the festive season of Diwali, so it wasn’t surprising to check the number towards the end of the day. The film raked in Rs 40.35 crore on its first day.
